We are Ben, Mary, Jack, and Sara Beall.
“Life is a journey, not a guided tour” was on a T-shirt Mary and I found, just before setting off on our move, sight unseen, to Australia in 1996.
Now, T-shirt philosophy’s not really our thing, but that phrase, coupled with the map of Australia on the back, caught our attention. It still captures the motivation behind some of our decisions, such as moving to Oz, then on to Europe in 2001, our planned sailing adventure (coming soon to an ocean near you), and most recently our move to Mount Pleasant, SC, back in the USA. Whether it’s real travel, or just the passage of everyday life, we believe we’ve been sent on a journey, and we’re determined to make the most of it!
Oh, and the shirt? The shop we bought it from is gone, but you can still find a version of the shirt here . The Aussies among you (at least those from Melbourne) won’t be pleased to discover that Victoria’s not on the map!
